GRANITE
The wisest choice for kitchen countertops, granite formed when molten rock cooled and solidified over a billion years ago. It is massive and tough making it the most common construction stone.
The pyramids in Egypt as well as modern skyscrapers use granite. Recently, granite has become affordable to use in homes and is prized for its unique character and durability as counter tops, vanities, floors, and pavers.
MARBLE
Luxurious, elegant, and timeless, marble comes from limestone or dolostone. Greek and Roman sculptors favored marble. Marmaros, in Greek, means “shining stone”. Marble adds distinction to foyers, bathrooms, fireplaces, and furniture.
Marble is porous and prone to scratches and stains from acids found in drinks and make-up. Apply a penetrating sealant twice a year.
